Lokosa, Danbani score as Kwara United down Gombe
Kwara United on Sunday returned to winning ways with two goals in two minutes to overcome visiting Gombe United 2-0 in their NPFL match-day nine encounter in Ilorin.
Hosts Kwara United started the match the hungrier of both sides and Gombe United were lucky not to have conceded in the first 15 minutes.
Defensive midfielder Afeez Nosiru saw his dangerous free kick saved by the diving Gombe goalkeeper Itodo Akoh in the 23rd minute, as the homers sought for an opening goal.
The breakthrough came in the 36th minute through Junior Lokosa, and just two minutes later, Gombe were down 2-0 after Alao Danbani netted the second goal for Kwara.
Gombe rallied back with Ahmed Jimoh upfront leading their onslaught but Kwara held on for a clean sheet.
Kwara United head coach Sulyman Ashifat said the win would spur his players on for the next game.
