Senator Bukola Saraki's Eid Message
This year's celebration calls for a reminder of our essence as human being and duties to one another in absorbing the real teachings of the Allah.
It is that time of the year for sober reflection; to re-enact the believe, tolerance, selflessness and virtues desired to move forward as a nation. Our ability to love, tolerate and live in peaceful coexistence as Nigerians regardless of ethnicity and religious affiliations will go a long way in bringing dividends of democracy faster. As no nation under chaos and ethnic bigotry cannot experience any real development.
The message of this season is clear enough for us all to embrace, the underlying factor is sacrifice, as displayed by Prophet Ibrahim's obedience and willingness to sacrifice his son, Ismail, in accordance to the will of Allah.
This period is not just merely for merry-making, it's also a time to deepen our faith and connect with our creator for sparing our lives to witness this auspicious occasion.
My thoughts are with those currently concluding their hajj pilgrimage, I indulge them to remember the country in their numerous supplication.
I urge the good people of Kwara Central and Kwara State to re-dedicate themselves to making the state a model of peace and harmonious living. As Muslim faithful, we must all constantly reflect on the infinite love, which Almighty Allah has for us and in return, reciprocate by showing love and compassion to others. It is in doing this that we will continue to receive more favor from Allah.
Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki
Representing Kwara Central
