KWHA Wants Action on Odo-Owa/Ilofa Roads

Date: 2012-10-18

The Kwara State House of Assembly has urged the state governor, Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed to release fund for the construction of side drainages and maintenance of roads within Odo Owa and Iloffa in Oke-Ero Local Government Area of the state.

The House made the plea in its recommendation on the report of its committee on Energy, Works and Transport importance on Odo-Owa and Iloffa Township road.

A member, representing Oke-Ero constituency, Dr. Abraham Ashaolu had on June 14th, 2012 raised a matter of general public importance on the lack of maintenance of rural roads drains in his constituency.

This, according to Ashaolu had made the roads impassable.

The committee observed that the road was not maintained and lacked side drains.

These two factors, the committee noted have aided the runoff and subsequent erosion on both sides of the road.
