Kwara: PDP Accuses ACN of Planning to Infiltrate Labour

Date: 2012-10-15

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has said it has doscovered a plot by the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) to infiltrate the organised labour as a weapon to destabilise the PDP government in the state.

In a statement by the PDP Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Mas'ud Adebimpe, which was made available to journalists in Ilorin on Sunday, the party said that efforts by ACN to thwart the ongoing biometric exercise in local government areas had failed, adding that local government workers shunned the antics and submitted themselves to biometric screening introduced by the state government.

"While we commend the state government and local government workers for their understanding and for employing dialogue as a means of resolving all issues relating to the outstanding salaries, we urge them to shun any unwanted interference in the interest of peace and progress.

"The PDP wishes to, once again, assure all the good people of Kwara State that our government would continue to promote those policies that would improve the well-being of all and sundry.

"The ACN is apparently uncomfortable with the cordial relationship between the state government and workers," Adebimpe said.
