Govt assures Kwarans of completion of ongoing projects before expiration of Gov Ahmed's tenure

The Kwara State Government has reassured the people of the state that all ongoing projects embarked upon by the present administration will be completed before the expiration of the Abdulfatah Ahmed administration as there is no cause for alarm.
According to the government , the present raining season would not affect or delay the ongoing projects within and outside the state capital.
The Permanent Secretary in the state Ministry of Works and Transport, Alhaji Garba YUSUF Manjo gave this assurance in his office while reacting to questions from newsmen.
The permanent Secretary disclosed that most of the road projects are being funded by the Infrastructural KWARA fund while there is schedule of payment for all the projects which is on quarterly basis.
According to him , the Geri Allimi project is currently at seventy five completion stage as the major work has been completed which is the concrete while the work that is now ongoing is digging of the drainage to direct the water to Odookun and Odota and the artwork for the dual carriage in the underpass and the top road on the two bridges.
Alhaji Garba Manjo said work has also begun in the remaining percentage left in the project while work on session two of the project from the IEDPU secretariat to Odookun which is the expansion work had also commenced with the drainage adding that in the next three weeks, appreciable progress would be noticed on the project .
He also revealed that another major road project under construction in Ilorin township by the present administration is the Sango /Kulende /UITH road which he confirmed is midway stressing that the major work is currently at the Oyun bridge while that Asa Dam /Egbejila /Airport road is ongoing as the contractor is working on the asphalt of another one point seven kilometers to make four kilometers while in two weeks time the laying if asphalt will get to Egbejila town while the Alagbado bridge will be motor able soon.
Answering another question, the Permanent Secretary said outside Ilorin , the state capital, the present administration had concentrated efforts on the Share/OkeOde Road which was awarded to two contractors and expressed appreciation over the level of work done so far while that of Ilesha/Baruba , Kaiama / Kishi Road projects are also ongoing as well as that of Arobadi /Maigida .
He warned all the contractors handling the state government jobs to work within specification as the government would not hesitate to revoke the contract of any contractor that does not follow specifications.
