Gov. Ahmed Charges Member of the Committee on Nigerian Centenary Book
The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed has charged members of the committee on Nigerian Centenary Book in the State to put their wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of their duties.
Governor Ahmed gave the charge today in Ilorin while inaugurating the eight member committee, headed by Professor Shehu Jimoh.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold, Governor Ahmed urged the Committee to ensure effective coverage of its terms of reference and turn in its report by the thirtieth of next month.
The Committee, according to the Governor, is charged with the responsibility of establishing a frame work for the collection and collation of authentic history of the state and the people and develop the concept and the content of the state version of the centenary book.
The eight member committee has the Director of Administration at Government House, Alhaji Garba Yusuf Monjo as Secretary.
Responding on behalf of the Committee, the Chairman, Professor Shehu Jimoh thanked the State government for finding them worthy of the assignment and expressed gratitude to be part of government recognition.
Professor Jimoh assured that the Committee would work towards showcasing the great potentials of the State not only to the country but the World at large.
