IBEDC denies involvement of staff in transformers theft within Ilorin Metropolis

The Regional Communication Officer, Kwara of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, Mr. Kolawole Asaju has denied the allegation that staff of the Company were involved in transformers theft that is rampant within Ilorin metropolis.

Mr Asaju in a telephone interview with our staff correspondent while reacting to the allegation of transformers theft in adewole community, said staff of the company would never involve in such heinous act.

He however called on members of the public with useful evidence that staff of the IBEDC mastermind the theft of transformers to contact the head office of the company.

Mr. Asaju noted that ordinary people could cut the power outage and remove the transformers, hence the need for communities to be policing their transformers and report any suspicious movement to the law enforcement agencies.

The IBEDC Regional Communication Officer, said a man was electrocuted on Monday at the Kwara State Polytechnic while trying to vandalise transformer.
