NCC trains 110 Kwarapoly employees in ICT

Date: 2017-06-13

The Nigerian Communications Commission has trained 110 academic and non-academic employees of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin on the use of Internet and some computer application software.

The training was financed by the NCC and organised in conjunction with Digital Bridge International, a training organisation.

A consultant with the DBI, Mr. Olanrewaju Bayo, said the programme was aimed at training workers of tertiary institutions across the country on Information Communications Technology.

The Rector, Kwara State Polytechnic, Mr. Mas'ud Elelu, urged the participants to ensure that the knowledge acquired during the training reflected in the discharge of their duties, adding, "The training could not have come at a better time than now that the whole world is tilting towards the ICT."

He said the importance of the ICT could not be over emphasised and advised the beneficiaries to always put what they had learnt into practice in order to justify the huge resources committed into it.

He said, "There is a need for staff to be acquainted with computer knowledge especially in areas like Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point which are needed in all spheres of life."
