KWSG Decries Attack on KWATMA Office
The Kwara State Government has condemned the attacks on the facilities of the state Traffic Management Authority (KWATMA) during the protest by Okada riders last Saturday.
The state commissioner for Works and Transport, Dr. Abubakar Amuda-Kannnike, who was represented by his permanent secretary TPL Alabi Amuda, while on an assessment of damaged facilities at KWATMA office yesterday, condemned the incident in strong terms.
The Commissioner expressed surprise at the attack and wondered why KWATMA was the subject of such a dastardly act.
He stressed the importance of the authority in ensuring free flow of traffic in the state, urging the men and officers not to allow the incident to demoralize them.
The Commissioner advised Okada operators and other road users to support and co-operate with KWATMA officers.
The Chief Executive Officer of the agency, Alhaji Amuda Bello, in his response, thanked the ministry for the visit and promised that the incident would not dampen the morale of the officers.
