Kwara Commences Distribution of Empowerment Forms to Women

THE Kwara Government has commenced the distribution of women empowerment forms in the 16 local government areas of the state.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr Asiat Saka, made this known at an interactive session with newsmen in Ilorin on Saturday.

Saka explained that the ministry would embark on a week long programme which would be launched by the wife of Kwara Governor, Mrs Omolewa Ahmed.

According to her, the government will commence cash transfer to the poor across 12 local government area of 30 communities in the state.

She added that about 17,320 people would also benefit from the cash transfer. "The ministry has started the skill acquisition training programme for the youths to be empowered," she said. (NAN)
