Football stakeholder urged to put AFCON exit behind them

Stakeholders in the Football Industry in Nigeria have been urged to take the exit of the Super Eagles from the 2017 Nations Cup in good faith and strategise for the World Cup and other challenges ahead.
A football administrator and founder of Olutayo Football Club, Ilorin, Dr. Joseph Adeyemo, made the call on Thursday. Adeyemo noted that there was no point crying over spilled milk as the deed had been done.
The football club proprietor called on the Nigeria Football Federation and others to learn and pick from the lessons of the defeat and build positively from what happened.
He emphasized the need to continue with indigenous coaches and build the national team around homepbased players with the inclusion of few young foreign players. Adeyemo, who is also the Chairman of the Kwara State Basketball Association, noted that the nation needed a team and not individual players, with more playing time together.
He charged the NFF to start work immediately for the country not miss out of the next World Cup.
Meanwhile, the first Inter-Club Badminton Championship gets underway on Thursday at the Indoor Sports Hall of the State Stadium Complex, Ilorin. The three-day event will end on Saturday with over eight clubs and over 300 players already registered to participate.
The Clubs have been grouped into four, including Kwara Stadium Badminton Veteran A and B, ITC Club, Ilorin Club among others.
