Okandeji called for further understanding by the local government workers stressing that Ilorin east has the highest number of staff on its pay roll and that was responsible for her inability to be at par with other local government councils in the state in the payment of staff salary.
While responding on behalf of the staff, the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employee, branch chairman of Ilorin east, Mallam Abdul Rasheed Usman called on the council boss to do everything within his power to improve on staff welfare and payment of arrears of salaries.
He then assured the readiness of its member to cooperate with his administration and called for regular consultation with the staff for better understanding and appreciation of the challenges of the council.
