There is a hot race going on behind-the-scenes for the vacant Kwara United by some popular coaches in the country.

Not less than eleven coaches have lobbied for the hot seat of the relegated club after Tunde Abdulrahman and his backroom staffs were sacked by the pay masters of the Ilorin-based team, News24 has gathered.

A top source at the club said a decision on who to tinker the team back to the Nigeria Professional Football League won't be taken until early 2016.

He however said he would not be surprised if the job is eventually given to a seasoned coach, whom he won't like to reveal.

Another source claimed that the odds favours either Abdullahi Biffo or Samson Unuanel to get the job for the 2015/16 season.

Unuanel, who has managed the team in the past is a well-known tactician on the local scene.

Commissioner of Sports in Kwara State, Ayo Bolakale on Monday confirmed that the Alhaji Haruna Maigidansanma-led management and Technical crew of the Ilorin based league side had been dissolved following the club's relegation from the NPFL.

Kwara United will play in the Nigeria National League despite just gaining promotion to the top flight last season.

Bolakale stated that the decision became necessary following the club's 'shameful outing' in the recently concluded season and a lot of internal wrangling between the management and Technical crew of the club
