Oro-Ago commends Kwara govt over bridge construction

People of Oro-Ago community have commended the Kwara State government for the award of Oko bridge in Oro-Ago, Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking in Ilorin during the fifth Oro-Ago Day celebration, at Oro-Ago, the President of Oro-Ago Development Union, Elder Lanre Alashi, said the award of contract for the bridge was in line with the campaign promise made by Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.

Elder Alashi said that having the governor at the helm of affairs in the state was an indication that the state was on the course of rapid development.

He said the prompt award of the contract would not only enhance easy transportation of farm produce from the area to other parts of the state, but would also enhance the socio-political activities of the entire Oro-Ago community.

The community leader also commended the efforts of the Kwara state commissioner for Works and his permanent secretary towards ensuring that work commenced on the bridge.

Also, Elder Alashi, on behalf of the Oro-Ago community, thanked the governor for appointing an indigene of the town, Mr Segun Abifarin, as a Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Domestic Affairs, assuring the governor of the unflinching support of the entire Oro-Ago community.

On the state of security in the community, he appealed to security agents and the chiefs in the town to ensure that the security of lives and property of the people were guaranteed.
