Youths want APC to rally round Saraki, Dogara
Groups under the aegis of Arewa Youth Development Association (AYDA) and the 11 Progressive Youth Organizations have called on the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to put national interest above personal interest in handling the crisis in the National Assembly.
Speaking on behalf of the two groups in Kaduna yesterday, the National President of (AYDA), Alhaji Imrana Wada Nas, regretted that some politicians for personal and other mischievous reasons are hell-bent on destabilizing the National Assembling by not allowing the elected officers to settle down and perform their duties.
"We have observed with keen interest and dismay the unveiling plans by some groups of politicians who are bent on destabilizing and creating a state of disorder at the National Assembly. We have also discovered that same group of persons have refused to give peace a chance by not allowing elected officers settle down for their primary duties as lawmakers even when the election that produced the leaders of both Senate and House of Representatives have been adjudged free, fair and credible.
"Equally, we gathered from reliable sources that all efforts made by various party members and stakeholders to prevail over these aggrieved party leaders that are against the emergence of Senator Bukola Saraki as the Senate President and Yakubu Dogara as the Speaker of House of Representatives have failed to yield positive result."
He said both Saraki and Dogara are loyal party members who have tremendously contributed to building the party, adding that they are well qualified for their positions and have the abilities to boost not only the legislature in Nigeria but good governance in general.
