Date: 2015-04-18

As  lobby for the Senate Presidency of the eighth Senate hots up, the North Central Youth Coalition for Good Governance (NCYCGG) has rallied support for Senator Bukola Saraki as Senate president to ensure vibrancy and effective chamber.

Addressing newsmen in Abuja, the National Co-ordinator of the group, Yahaya Ismail Adesayo, called on both the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and other elected Senators to support his candidacy to lead the Senate.

The group it made the call in view of the permutation that the position of Senate President be zoned to North Central.

“Having extensively considered the past and present records of both our zone, the North Central, and contributions with experience of Senator Bukola Saraki, it is sacrosanct to call on the leadership of All Progressives Congress and elected Senators to unanimously support Saraki for the next Senate President seat,” he said.

He said the demand of the group is against the backdrop of their zones’ contributions to the victory of Gen. Muhammadu Buhari in the March 28 presidential election and Sen. Bukola Saraki’s loyalty and dedication to the party and the nation in general.
