College of Arabic and Islamic Studies Students Warned Against Violence

Date: 2015-01-18

Acting Provost of the Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Dr Bilikis Amoleye, has warned students of the institution against engaging in any violent act during the February polls. Amoleye gave the warning in Ilorin during the 3rd matriculation ceremony of the college held at the school's premises. "This is election year in Nigeria, the year in which the political history of this country will be updated. "As good citizens of this great country, you should not allow yourselves to be used as political thugs to disrupt the election," she warned. Amoleye advised the new students to go to election venue on election days and cast their votes peacefully for candidates of their choice. "Together we pray the outcome of the elections will produce leaders that will bring about peace, development and transformation to this country of ours," she said.
