Expert advocates economic diversification
A business analyst and Associate Professor of International Business Dr. Muritala Awodun has stated that Nigeria would not have felt the impact of the dwindling oil prices if it had judiciously managed its resources.
He said all along Nigeria has been used to wastage thereby compounding its economic woes, while supporting the planned austerity measures to cope with the declining oil revenue.
Speaking with Daily Trust in Ilorin on the sidelines of the Global Entrepreneurship Week organised by Kwara State University, Awodun also urged Nigerians to halt over-dependence on oil resource.
The week-long event, according to Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship, KWASU, Dr. Hakeem Ajonbadi, was aimed at raising awareness of members of the community to the necessity of entrepreneurship, saying no nation can develop without it.
wodun who was the immediate past Director of the Centre, stressed that it is high time government looked into other directions to generate revenue since oil revenue is no longer dependable.
