Kwara 2015: Police warn politicians in Kwara

Ahead of the 2015 elections in Kwara State, politicians were yesterday warned against being in possession of any material considered offensive by the electoral law before, during and after the election.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Garba Salihu, warned that any politician caught fomenting trouble would be severely dealt with.

He spoke at an inter-agency consultative committee on election security/stakeholders meeting in Ilorin.

All military and paramilitary agencies including the State Security Service (SSS), Army, Navy, NSCDC, Air Force and customs among others were present at the session.

The commissioner urged politicians and political parties to protect the prevailing peace in the state.

He said: "We all must play our part as politicians, security agents, artisans, voters, national unions and all present here. We must be prepared to face the challenges of having a free, fair and credible elections come 2015."
