Kwara State Government has rewarded the Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike with an award of excellence for his profound contributions to sports development in the state.

Governor Abdulfattah Ahmed who presented the certificate of award to Ejidike at the First Kwara State Sports Summit in Ilorin noted that the Nigeria Karate Federation (KFN) boss was honoured for his unending passion for sports promotion especially at the grassroots to further encourage sports philanthropists and sports-loving individuals to do more.

While receiving the award, Ejidike thanked the Kwara State Government for recognising his efforts and contributions, just as he promised to do more to promote sports in the country.

"I appreciate this kind gesture by the Kwara State Government and the entire people of Kwara for honouring me. This award has really instilled in me a propelling force to do more as Nigeria's Pillar of Sports.

It's indeed a call for me to continue my selfless service to my dear country and create an enabling environment for our youths to participate positively in sports," he said. Ejidike however promised to partner with the state government in re-engineering and re packaging of sports in the state.
