OPINION: There's always light after the tunnel. By Abdulraheem Salman

Rewarding excellent performance is as good as sponsoring and backing credible candidates for a particular seat during elections on one hand and being determined to champion the cause of the masses even if against your personal interests.

There is no gain saying that the forthcoming 2015 general will be a litmus test among gladiators who are at the centre stage of Kwara politics. The period will no doubt witness test of strength within the party after which successful candidates will face the final tussle during the election proper.

In short, it is going to be intra and inter parties' struggle. However, it is crystal clear that the All Progressive Congress, APC, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are the major political parties making waves in the state.

There had been accusations and counter accusations as well as reactions and counter reactions between the two parties majorly on policies.

For the APC, the existing PDP structure moved during the defection has enable it control virtually all the state apparatus while PDP left its destiny to the period after 2015 when it hoped to retrieve the acclaimed "stolen mandates" through the ballot since the court refuses to speak.

Unfortunately, PDP had put its hope in the fact that any candidate presented during the poll will eventually emerge winners. Oh no! This period is out rightly different from years before. There are much more awareness and exposure that we can no longer be fooled.

If any Diaspora politician feels that he/she loves the people of Kwara State and thereby venturing into selfish and inordinate political ambition even when the vast majority are saying no, then such person deserves to charge with Treason Felony.

While the party was chanting "Freedom for Kwara" it is still enslaving its members in the den of an acclaimed financier who has nothing at hand and heart to give out that can transform into electoral victory in 2015. No wonder Jean Jacques Rousseau said: "Human being are born free but always in chain".

How on earth would anyone desire to wield power to herself when she doesn't have the political clout and well-with-all that can deliver the people of the State from their poverty ridden status despite her acclaimed economic status. What a mess!

Surprisingly, the sudden vacuum created by the exit of the Bukola Saraki-led political structure from the PDP has enable some persons gain cheap entrance into the party and eventually occupying the driver's seat without VIO/Road Safety proper checks nor acquisition of Certificate of Road Worthiness.

But I'm very much hopeful that at the end of the day, voices of the oppressed will be heard and their sincere stands will be seen and felt for the growth and freedom of the entire state from the said bondage. There will therefore be bright light after the tunnel no matter their struggles and lobbies.

This is because PDP members will reject imposition of any governorship candidate. Outcome of the party primaries shall be the unifying factor towards the achievement of the much awaited election victory. But if the dealers behaves funny and proofs cruelly, and go ahead to repeat the mistake made during the appointment of the Minister, then articulate people of Kwara State shall not but stage a protest vote or move loyalty by floating a new political party.

There and then, President Goodluck Jonathan will get to know who are the real politicians from Kwara. He will also know who are political dealers and lobby groups as well as their antics.

At this juncture, there is urgent need for real politicians within the PDP circle to have unity of purpose against the selfish interests of the Diaspora politicians whose major concern is "Me, my business, my stooges and son alone".

Interested gubernatorial aspirants should rather go through the electorates than going through the much-known dealer who has been frustrating and threatening the peace of the Kwara PDP members with the power of the Presidency. Chai, Chai, Chai, there is God oooo.

Dear Kwarans, always remember that we are all potential leaders and we must not succumb to any intimidation from anybody or group.

Shine your eyes well, well and beware of political dealers and fraudsters!!!
