Kwara targets Plateau United points for promotion

Date: 2014-09-24

Promotion chasing Kwara United FC will return to the Ilorin Township stadium on Saturday to hunt for more points as they take on Plateau United in a winner takes all encounter.

With just four matches to the end of the League, Wikki Tourists lead the Nigeria National League Division A table with 47 points, four clear points more than their three rival-Kwara United, Plateau United and Ranch Bees FC of Kaduna who are on 43 point each.

The manager of the team, Zubair Ali told Daily Trust that the rescheduled week 27 match is a must win for his side because the three points will certainly brighten Kwara United's chances of returning to the elite division.

In addition, he said the immense attention given to the club by the management is the secret of the club's success in the Nigeria National League this season.

"I want to start by giving credit to our management because without their support, I don't think we would have come this far. Payments of all our salaries and bonuses have been prompt which is a known morale booster.

"They have shown commitment for us in our quest to return to the Premier League where we rightly belong. And our clash with Plateau this weekend by the grace of God we are going to emerge victorious. It is a must win match. "Victory will brighten our promotion chances," he said.
