He said Saraki, who is widely regarded as the North Central leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has also proved to be a worthy ambassador to be reckoned with at all times.
Obasanjo is the former Board of Trustees (BOT) chairman of the PDP and now a national leader of the party.
According to him, Saraki has developed the state beyond recognition. He stated that the present administration in the state has done well in its policies and programmes aim at making life better for its people.
The former president spoke at the Gbenga Olusegun Power Formation Empowerment held at the Banquet Hall Ilorin.
Senator Saraki, he noted, has laid a solid foundation for the present administration to follow and commended Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed for the harmonious working relationship in ensuring continuity in governing the state.
He praised the organiser of the programme for the initiative in partnering with students in developing youth through sports.
Also speaking, Kwara state Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, reinstated that his administration is committed to development of youths through sports and empowerment.
In his remark, Senator Bukola Saraki commended the organisers for empowering people through sports and called on wealthy individuals to always complement government's efforts in development of the nation.
The organiser of the programme, Mr Gbenga Olusegun, said the purpose is to ensure development of youth through sports with a view to complement the state government.
Obasanjo, who had since left the state, was accompanied to the airport by Saraki.
