Kwara declares public holiday for voters'registration
The Kwara State government yesterday declared Friday, August 15 a work-free day to enable residents of the state participate in the voters' registration exercise.
The exercise begins Friday in eight local governments according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). This was contained in a statement issued by Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Sola Gold.
The SSG urged residents of the state to take advantage of the public holiday and come out en-masse to get registered.
He reminded the residents that only those who are registered would be eligible to vote during elections.
