Kwara Govt To Overhaul Primary Education
The Kwara State government has announced its resolve to overhaul primary education in the state with a view to ensuring qualitative education at that level.
The state commissioner for information and communications, Mr Tunji Moronfoye, stated this during an interview with LEADERSHIP Sunday in llorin.
He said the restructuring would bring about the desired improvement on the dwindling standard of education at the basic level.
He said the government will ensure that only competent hands with requisite qualifications teach at the primary school level in the state.
On infrastructural development, the commissioner said that in spite of seeming shortfalls in its allocation, government will not renege on its efforts to complete and initiate viable projects in the state.
Moronfoye while restating the government’s commitment to the welfare of workers gave the assurance that the increment in salaries already being enjoyed by ministries and teachers in the state would also be extended to workers at government parastatals.
He called for collaborative effort from Nigerians to curb terrorism, and appealed to Muslim faithful to use the Ramadan period to pray for the nation’s stability.
