Fuel marketers now sell at N97 in Kwara
Three months after dispensing fuel to motorists above the official price of N97 per litre, independent marketers in Kwara State have reverted to the official price, investigations by Daily Trust have shown.
Daily Trust correspondent who visited major independent filling stations in Ilorin, the state capital observed that a litre is now sold for N97.
Until recently, independent filling stations sold a litre above the official price, attributing the increment to lack of supply from Ilorin depot of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), claiming that they buy the product at higher price from outside the state.
State Chairman of Independent Petroleum Marketers' Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Alhaji Abdulrasheed Olapade said penultimate week that the association was working to return to N97 per litre.
Speaking with Daily Trust correspondent, the chairman confirmed the latest development, saying all the marketers had decided to revert to the normal price even though loading has not resumed in Ilorin depot.
He said they reverted to the official price because they get sufficient supply at Mosimi in Ogun state and Lagos depots, calling on the federal government to make the product available in Ilorin depot.
