KYV Decry PDP's 'Bloody' Congress

Date: 2014-05-02

Kwara youths under the auspices of Kwara Youth Voice (KYV) yesterday condemned the violence that greeted the ward congress of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ilorin, the state capital.

At least three PDP members lost their lives in the violence that broke out during the PDP congress early last month.

The group described the bloody PDP ward congress as a big disgrace and embarrassment to Kwarans and peace loving youths in the state.

Addressing a news conference in Ilorin, the chairman of the group, Alhaji Umar Aliyu said "We are concerned and sad about the violence that dominated the exercise leading to the killings and sporadic shooting at the ward congress of the party.

"The scenario is viewed as PDP's maladministration characterised by killings and abduction of innocent souls and citizens across the land, which portend a great danger come 2015.
