NAFDAC Suspends 10 Manufacturers in Kwara
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) said it has suspended ten manufacturers in Kwara State since the beginning of this year over non-compliance with rules and regulations.
Director of the agency in the state, Mrs. Bolaji Abayomi, said among those suspended were owners of water factories who failed to keep their environments clean.
Speaking with newsmen in Ilorin, Abayomi stated that illegal manufacturers would be chased out of the state.
“Two water factories were fined for not keeping healthy environments; four drug companies were sanctioned and their expired drugs were seized. Also, some patent medicine stores whose drugs nearly expired and a hotel were sanctioned, while a cold room operator was sanctioned and his sea foods destroyed,” she said.
