We will turn around Kwara for good - Alabi

The Kwara State government has again restated its commitment to turn around the State positively for the benefit of the people.

The State Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi stated this today while speaking at the special appreciation and thanksgiving service in honour of elected political office holders organised by the State Chapter of the Christian Political Enlightenment Forum at Baptist Church, Oro.

Mr. Alabi said the government would not relent in meetings it obligations to the people especially the regular payment of salaries and gratuities among others to eradicate poverty.

The Deputy Governor stated that all the dilapidated Primary Schools and health facilities would be uplifted.

He explained that all social amenities such as roads and potable water for the people would be given adequate attention.

Mr Alabi called on the people to show love, help others in need and pray for the government to succeed in the task of developing the State.

The Deputy Governor pledged that the present administration would be fair to all.

Also speaking, APC Stalwarts, Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo and Chief Rex Kola Olawoye attributed the victory of the Party and the successes recorded to God and called on the people to always guide the administration and say the truth at all times.

In his exhortation, Reverend Samuel Adedayo emphasised the need to always give thanks and appreciate God for His mercy and benevolent.

Reverend Adedayo noted that all human beings are created for a purpose calling on the people to always do good work and those in elected positions to serve humanity with all their heart.

The Cleric charged the people to pray for the government to succeed and encouraged Christians to join politics to make the necessary impact.

The Chairman of the Forum, Pastor Steven Odukanmi said the body was not a party but a purpose driven forum that exist when the State was under fire.

Pastor Odukanmi highlighted some of the aims and objectives of the Forum which include to create a solid and unbreakable relationship between Christian and Muslim brethren and to live in harmony and togetherness in politics and other settings.

The Chairman pledged their loyalty to the government and implored elected candidates to have good relationship with the Forum.

He called for the provision of mobility for the smooth running of the Association, job opportunities for the youth and urgent payment of workers arrears to eradicate poverty.

The Deputy Governor read the only lesson taken from the book of Ephesians Chapter 2.10.

Special prayer was later offered for the Governor and the State in general.
