Kwara State police command has said that it is not aware of an alleged threat to the life of the secretary to the state governorship election petition tribunal, Mrs Uju Mesiobi-Emeto, by some faceless persons in the state.

Speaking with the Nigerian Tribune in a telephone interview on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Dabo Ezekiel, said he would contact the A’ Division of the Nigeria Police, where the secretary reportedly lodged the case.

“Honesty, I am not aware. Probably, I will get to know when I get to office. It has not been reported to me,” he said.

The secretary to the Kwara Governorship Election Petition Tribunal had reportedly raised the alarm at the weekend that she was being harassed and threatened by some faceless persons after she reportedly turned down their entreaties to sign certain documents.

Meanwhile, the Chief Press Secreatary to the Kwara State governor, Alhaji Wahab Oba, has disassociated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the allegation, saying; “the Tribunal Secretary is not the judge, why should anybody be after her life? We have also contacted Mrs Uju and she denied being threatened on the basis of her refusal to sign any documment as claimed by the ACN.”
