Represented at the occasion by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Sola Isiaka Gold, Ahmed said that sporting activities would be given adequate attention in the state under his administration.

He commended the ladies wing of the Ilorin Golf Club for organizing the competition and urged them to use the opportunity to promote unity, friendliness, mutual understanding, mental alertness and among all physical fitness.

In her remark, Captain of Ilorin Golf Club, Captain Bayo Ojulape said the club would continue to appreciate the state government for being supportive to the club.

The club's Lady Captain Mrs. Joy Odugbena, who equally expressed appreciation to the Kwara State Government for tremendous support to the club, promised to mobilize members to help provide unity and peace in the state.

Ten golf clubs are already in Ilorin for the competition including, Ikoyi, Ekiti, Kogi, Zaria, Port Harcourt and Ibadan.
