I've done more in Kwara than Gov Ahmed, says Ajibola
Senator Ajibola made this known in a press statement on Thursday signed by Director of Administration and Logistics of his campaign outfit, Prince Shuaib Olanrewaju.
Ajibola was reacting to a news report credited to Ahmed challenging to tell the people his achievement as a Senator.
He said that Ajibola, as a senator, who does not control the state fund like the governor, has contributed N1.5 billion to Kwara State national Assembly Joint projects.
Olanrewaju said part of the N1. 5 billion was used to build Baruten road, cargo terminal at Ilorin and the Vocational Centre, Ajase-Ipo among other contributions to the state development.
According to Olanrewaju, Ajibola did not believe in blowing his trumpet and engage in media hype like the All Progressives Congress-led government in the state.
“Senator Ajibola has over the year been able to influence and directly facilitate numerous capital projects in Kwara South Senatorial district”, Olanrewaju added.
Olanrewaju listed some of the senator’s intervention in the area of education in his Kwara South constituency to include construction of classrooms in Isapa, Ijagbo, Babanloma, Oke Oyan, Okeya-Po.
He said the education project consisted of a block of three classrooms each in primary and secondary schools spread across the seven local governments of the constituency
Olanrewaju added that Ajibola has expended at least N60 million on improving education in the area.
He therefore challenged Ahmed to name any school his administration has renovated or rehabilitated in the state.
Olanrewaju said the Ajibola had constructed Oke-Daba rural access road with granite surfacing in Ifelodun LGA at the cost N25 million and Idofin road in Oke Ero LGA at the cost of N150 million.
According to Olanrewaju, Ajibola has also constructed a two-kilometer road at Isapa, at a cost of N150 million and provided hand pump boreholes to 15 communities spread across the constituency.
Ajibola, he also said, had provided about 30 communities in Kwara South with motorized boreholes and constructed Isapa water dam for domestic and irrigation purposes, adding that the PDP governorship candidate single-handedly constructed N16 million Town Hall for Ijara-Isin, Isanlu-Isin and Isapa in Isin and Ekiti LGAs.
He said Ajibola had sponsored four to Mecca and another four to Jerusalem on Holy Pilgrimage at the cost of N4 million.
He added that Sen. Ajibola has empowered the people with 100 motorcycles, 83 each of grinding machines, mechanic tool boxes, hair dryers and clippers, sewing machines and 500 mobile phones at N50 million.
According to Olanrewaju, about 120 Kwara South indigenes were placed on monthly stipend ranging from N10, 000 to N20, 000 by the Senator while about 60 communities have benefitted from him on self-help development projects.
He said Sen. Ajibola embarked on these projects because of the state government neglect of the people and infrastructure of the area.
