Date: 2014-06-26

The Kwara State Judiciary, Ilorin has carried out a major posting of its magistrates.

In all, thirty six magistrates were affected.

All the affected magistrates have already reported at their new stations in an exercise that took effect from Friday last week.

Those who spoke with our correspondent, disclosed that the posting  of the magistrates were normal routine and done in good faith, as no judicial officer was favoured in the exercise.

They also confirmed that some magistrates who had worked for several years in courts outside the state capital were back to Ilorin.

Our correspondent gathered that some of the cases before the magistrates that were posted and at mentioning stage, would begin afresh, while lawyers could make application on those that reached the hearing stage.

It was gathered that the posting is one of the major exercises in recent times in the state judiciary that affected all magistrates with the exception of the Chief Registrar, the Deputy Chief Registrar Litigation, Deputy Chief Registrar, Administration and Deputy Chief Registrar, Magistracy who are at management level.
