Kwara Aviation College Acquires Two Aircraft
 
    
The Kwara State Government's efforts to make Ilorin International Aviation College a world class pilot training center received a boost yesterday as the government procured two additional aircrafts for the college.
The two single engine aircrafts 5NBRC and 5NBRW were yesterday received at the Ilorin International Airport Tarmac by the state governor, Alhaji (Dr.) AbdulFatah Ahmed, accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Isiaka Sola Gold, the State Commissioner of Works and Transports, Dr. Abubakar Kannike and several other top state officials.
  Receiving the aircraft on behalf of the state, Governor Ahmed explained that the provision of two additional aircrafts would boost the capacity training of the college.
  Governor Ahmed stated further that the college has commenced the recruitment of cadet for training at the college adding that about 25 air force officers are currently undergoing training of various kinds at the college.
According to the governor, Kwara is the first state to set up an International Aviation College pointing out that frantic efforts would be made to make the place more conducive for leaving.
He disclosed further that additional 10 to 12 aircrafts are being expected with the support of the Federal Government, promising that his government would do everything humanly possible to make the college one of the best in the world.
Earlier in his comment, the Head of Training at the College, Captain Abdulkareem Abdulmumeen who officially presented the two aircrafts to the governor said they have been duly registered in Nigeria by the Nigeria Civil Aviation.
Also speaking at the occasion, the State Commissioner for Works, Dr. Abubakar Kannike who doubles as a member of the Board of the Aviation College, disclosed that the first set of students of the college have graduated.
The Commissioner stated that the college has the youngest commercial pilots in its training and gave kudos to the governor for his pragmatic efforts on the procurement of the two additional aircrafts for the college.
