Kwara United striker Segun Alebiosu is currently in hospital after clashing with a Sharks player Gabriel Olalekan during the teams' 0-0 draw on Saturday.

The 18-year-old was introduced as a second-half substitute, but the medical team was called into action just five minutes later to stretcher the youngster off after a coming together between himself and Olalekan.

Kwara coach Samson Unuanel slammed the referee for his failure to give Olalekan his marching orders, with the the Sharks man in fact receiving little more than a slap on the wrist for the nasty challenge.

He said: "In my opinion, the referee did not deal with the situation because the Sharks defender deserved a straight red card (for the tackle)," Unuanel told SuperSport. "Instead, he was allowed to go scot free without receiving even a yellow card."

Regarding the condition of the promising attacker, Unuanel says he hopes to have a clearer idea after consulting the club doctor.

"He spent the night in hospital and I want to pray this is not too serious," he added.

"I will speak to the club doctor to ascertain his present condition and I want to believe all will be well."
