To boost vehicular movement, the  Kwara State government has said that it would  complete the rehabilitation of 20 roads in Ilorin,  the state capital,  in  August.

The Commissioner for Works and Transport, Dr Amuda Kannike, said this in IIorin.

Kannike said work on most of the projects had reached advanced stage and would be ready in August.

The commissioner, who had  inspected some of the projects, expressed satisfaction at  the level of  work done  and advised the contractors to strictly follow the specifications in their contracts.

He said the ongoing projects would enhance  the  socio-economic  development of the state, adding that  "the state government will continue to open up more roads to take care of the increasing traffic in the state capital.''

The commissioner also   said the construction of the tarmac  at the IIorin International Airport would be completed before the end of the year.
