A Federal High Court sitting in Ilorin and presided by Justice Olayinka Faaji has dismissed the suit filed by a former law Prof. Rasheed Ijaodola, against the appointment of Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali as the Vice Chancellor of the institution.

Delivering judgment on the matter, Faaji said the appointment of incumbent Vice Chancellor was in accordance with the university's regulations and that the institution properly delegated its function to a committee saddled with the responsibility of short listing candidates for the vacant position of the Vice Chancellor.

Ijaodola who was one of the contestants to the position of Vice Chancellor was dissatisfied with the decision of the institution's selection team and Governing Council, instituted a case challenging the selection of Ambali.
Ijaodola had sought an order of perpetual injunction restraining Ambali from parading himself as the new Vice Chancellor of the university.

Reacting to the verdict, Ambali described the judgment as a landmark, saying the university will always follow the due process.

"You will realize that all those joined as co-defendants did what was right as pronounced by the court," he said.
