He made the appeal while speaking with newsmen immediately after a reception programme organised by a group known as Committee of Friends, which is also known as Ilorin Emirate Extraction, in honour of the former Vice Chancellor of University of Ilorin, Professor Is-Haq Oloyede, for his achievement in the state.

Abdulraheeem, who is also a former Vice Chancellor of University of Ilorin, said a lot of fund has been made available to TETFUND, Nigeria University Commission (NUC), noting that the universities must re-orient and apply themselves in the utilization of the fund for applied research and educational development. He commended Oloyede for his efforts in the transformation of the University of Ilorin during his tenure.

Earlier in his speech, the pioneer Chairman of Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC), Justice Mustapha Akanbi, said the former vice chancellor was the brain behind the establishment of the University of Ilorin's Centre for Ilorin Studies, saying that Oloyede also produced lot of professors during his tenure.

Oloyede, who is presently the Secretary General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, in his reaction appreciated the Kwarans for their love and support.
