Kwara IPMAN boss dies of cardiac arrest
It was wailing and expression of regret among members of Kwara State branch of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) on Wednesday as their chairman, Bolaji Abolade, reportedly died unexpectedly.
The chairman was said to have died of heart attack on Tuesday night at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH).
Abolade, who is said to be in his fifties reportedly, suffered the attack on Monday night when he was about to sleep at his residence at Offa Garage area, where he was rushed to the hospital.
He was said to be admitted at the intensive care unit of the hospital where he was being attended to by medical experts before he gave up, about 24 hours after his admission.
The deceased was said to show no sign of ill health, due to the way he went about his normal business activities on Monday.
Under his leadership, the association, some few months back, embarked on strike to protest the problematic effect activities of the vandals who siphon petrol at the pipelines both within the state and neigbouring Oyo state have on the supply to the Oke-Oyi Depot in the state.
When the state command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) impounded hundreds of litres of petrol being siphoned by some vandals who escaped arrest recently he commended the feat as he described the siphoning as a sabotage of economy.
