Omoluabi Handball Tourney Begins May 29

The 4th edition of the Omoluabi Handball tournament among secondary schools in Kwara State will commence on the 29th of May to the 31st at the indoor hall of the Kwara State stadium, Ilorin.

The Executive Director of Omoluabi Foundation, Hajia Funsho Abdullahi stated this yesterday in Ilorin while presenting a cash donation of N150,000 to the Handball association as part of her contribution to develop the game in all the nooks and crannies.

Hajia Abdullahi, who was represented by the Personal Assistant to the Minister of Sports, Mallam Tunde Salman, stressed the need to encourage children to take active participation in sports adding that the game will add values to their physical and mental wellbeing.

She said the foundation will continue to sponsor the completion to fish out hidden talents in schools.

Responding, the Director of Sports, Coach Tunde Kazeem, who was represented by Mallam Jimoh Oke, thanked the foundation for the support at all times.

He stressed that the competition has created opportunity for the players to develop their potentials in the games of handball.

Hajia Iyabo who spoke on behalf of the Handball Association commended the wife of the Minister of Sports on the gesture to evaluate the game of handball in Kwara State and beyond.
