Kwara United Players Beg for New Bus
The loss recorded by Kwara United Football Club of Ilorin to the Rangers International of Enugu in the week five premier league cracker has been attributed to fatigue and biased officiating.
It was like a nightmare when Kwara United Football Club bus developed mechanical fault at Ejule in Kogi State and both the players and officials were stranded for eight hours on their way to Enugu on Friday to keep a date with Rangers International.
A statement by the Kwara United FC Media Officer, Olayioye Ajide revealed that the age-long coaster bus developed fault at about 2:00 pm at Ejule, Kogi State on their way to Enugu which could not be rectified until about 9:00 pm.
The team finally got to Enugu at about 1:00 am on Saturday, a development the officials of the club noted not good for aspiring continental team.
Equally, the players have to stop again for another repair on their way back to Ilorin.
Olayioye Ajide said the management will make a passionate request to the state government for a brand new coaster bus for comfort trip for the club.
‘The league is still young and we have to travel around the country to places like Maiduguri, Kano, Bauchi, Aba, Port Harcourt among other league centres and it is not good for a highly rated club like Kwara United to continue to subject ourselves to road hazard with a rickety bus like ours. The management board will have to make case for new bus”.
The players however vowed to get over the trauma and tango for the maximum points in subsequent league games against.
