Muyideen Idris of Gambari area of Kwara State, on Monday, told an Ilorin Area Court that his wife, Jemilat Muyideen, is a “talkative” and had funny manners.

“My wife cannot hold on to any secret because she will go and reveal it to friends and outsiders due to her behaviour,” he said.

The 48-year-old man prayed the court to dissolve his five-year-old marriage, which was contracted in 2008 and had produced two male children.

“My Lord, I want an end to this marriage because I hate exposing my private life and affairs to outsiders, which my wife cannot stop doing,” he said.

On her part, Jemilat, the defendant, objected to the prayer of her husband, saying she is still interested in the marriage.

“I admit that I’m wrong and I promise to change and stop seeking for advice from friends as my husband wishes,” she said.

She prayed the court to grant her more time to make some amendments and to initiate a reconciliatory move.

The Presiding Judge, Yusuf Abdulkareem, adjourned the case till April 10 for a report of settlement or continuation of hearing.
