KSrelief to Empower 970 Vulnerable Nigerians in Abuja, Kwara
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) will sponsor 970 vulnerable Nigerians in Abuja and Kwara State under a transformative skills and livelihood empowerment programme for less privileged citizens.
The President of Abibakr As-Sidiq Philanthropic Home (ASPH), Malam Abdulrazzaq Salman, disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Salman said the programme would target internally displaced persons (IDPs), refugees, widows, unemployed youths and individuals living below the poverty line in communities across the Federal Capital Territory and Kwara State.
He explained that the initiative is designed to equip beneficiaries with practical vocational skills and entrepreneurial knowledge to promote sustainable economic independence.
"Beneficiaries will receive hands-on training in high-demand, income-generating fields such as tailoring and garment production, catering and food processing, ICT and digital literacy, photography and other locally relevant trades," he said.
According to him, participants will, upon completion of the training, receive starter kits, tools and operational support to enable them to immediately establish income-generating ventures.
He emphasised that the intervention focuses on long-term empowerment rather than short-term relief.
"By providing practical skills and business support, the programme aims to restore dignity, strengthen resilience and reduce economic vulnerability among displaced and disadvantaged populations in Abuja and Kwara State," Salman added.
He noted that the project would be implemented by ASPH in collaboration with relevant federal and Kwara State authorities to ensure transparency, accountability and fairness in the nomination and verification process.
Special consideration, he said, would be given to individuals and households facing severe economic hardship and displacement.
Salman expressed appreciation to KSrelief for its continued humanitarian commitment to Nigeria, describing the initiative as a significant contribution to poverty reduction, youth empowerment and economic development in the targeted areas.
