Date: 2026-02-02

The Kwara State Chapter of the Muslim Congress (TMC) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Professor Badmus Olanrewaju Yusuf.

The organisation described his death as a significant loss to the state's Muslim community and the nation's Islamic scholarship.

In a condolence message issued by the state secretary, Abdullateef Onafuye, the Waali of the Congress, Dr Zakariyyah Sulyman Bolakale, said the demise of the revered scholar and community leader was "a profound loss that will be felt across Kwara State and beyond."

He extended heartfelt condolences to the Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the immediate family of the late professor, and the entire Muslim Ummah.

Dr Bolakale noted that Professor Badmus Yusuf left an enduring legacy as a distinguished scholar, educator, and advocate for peace, whose contributions to the propagation of Islam in Kwara State and across Nigeria were widely acknowledged.

Praying for the departed soul, the Waali asked Allah SWT to grant him acceptance in the Hereafter, admit him into Jannat al-Firdaws, and provide his family the strength to endure the irreplaceable loss.
