Al-Hikmah University Allays Security Fears Ahead Of 15th Convocation Ceremony
Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, an Islamic faith-based higher institution, has moved to allay the concerns of parents, staff, and students regarding the current security situation in Kwara South. The university maintains its Agriculture department campus in Igbaja, located within the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
While the university acknowledged its concern regarding kidnappings across the country, it noted that specific measures have been implemented to ensure the safety of its campuses.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof Lateef Oladimeji, addressed journalists in Ilorin ahead of the institution's 15th convocation scheduled for this week. He announced that a total of 2,192 students are set to graduate.
Providing a breakdown of the results, he stated that 76 graduands attained first-class honours, 1,008 received second-class upper division, 996 earned second-class lower division, and 112 were awarded third-class honours.
The university will also graduate 77 students with postgraduate diplomas, 485 master's degree holders, and 79 doctoral degree recipients.
