Adekimi Ojo, the Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, has announced the implementation of robust security measures across the state ahead of the Christmas and New Year festivities. This proactive deployment is intended to protect lives and property and affirms the readiness of the command to sustain public safety and confidence during the holiday period.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Ojo explained that the strategy aligns with the nationwide security architecture outlined by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun. The measures include intensified visibility policing, intelligence led patrols, and targeted operations at places of worship, markets, recreational centres, motor parks, and highways.

Tactical and specialised units have been placed on heightened alert, with ongoing surveillance and raids in identified blackspots.
