Saraki Hails PDP's Peaceful Ward Congresses as Proof of Growing Strength in Kwara
Former Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has commended the peaceful conduct of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ward congresses held across all 193 wards of Kwara State, describing the exercise as clear evidence that the party is regaining strength and unity ahead of the 2027 elections.
In a statement issued by his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, Saraki said the smooth and orderly nature of the congresses reflected internal democracy and growing confidence within the party.
"The congresses once again demonstrated the growing strength of our party in Kwara," Saraki stated, reaffirming his belief that the PDP is on track for a political resurgence in the state.
The ward-level elections, which saw delegates elected to represent their communities at higher party forums, were conducted without major incidents, reinforcing claims of improved organisation and cohesion within the party structure.
Saraki, who remains a key figure in PDP politics in Kwara, urged members to maintain discipline and focus as the party prepares for upcoming electoral contests.
"The transparent and consensus-driven process showed our collective resolve to work together in harmony and position the PDP as a credible alternative to lead the state again."
He congratulated the newly elected ward executives, urging them to see their positions as a call to serve the people.
Saraki noted that the new ward leaders face a significant responsibility, urging them to act as unifiers, mobilizers, and genuine voices for the people's aspirations.
He emphasized that their dedication at the grassroots level would shape the overall strength and progress of the party.
Saraki also reassured party members of his support and called on stakeholders to remain united as the PDP prepares for future elections.
