Kwara NSCDC Arrests Man for Alleged Sexual Assault and Homosexual Acts with Teenagers
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State has arrested Alhaji Ganiyu Kehinde, a 45-year-old vehicle spare parts dealer, over allegations of homosexual acts and the defilement of two teenage boys in the Lpata-Oloje area of Ilorin.
According to a statement by ASC 1 Ayoola Michael, NSCDC Public Relations Officer, the case was reported to the command's Gender Unit on 14 April 2025 by the victims' parents and community members. They alleged that Kehinde had engaged in repeated sexual acts with the boys, aged 15 and 19, over an extended period.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly lured the victims with monetary gifts (N500 on separate occasions) and sexually assaulted them through anal intercourse at his residence and an unfinished building in Oko-Olowo area, Ilorin.
The NSCDC stated that the matter is under active investigation, with the suspect in custody pending further legal proceedings.
The victims are currently undergoing medical and psychological assessments to support their recovery and the ongoing investigation.
It was also revealed that the suspect denied all allegations of sexual penetration but admitted to allowing the boys to sleep on his chest, describing the interaction as harmless.
The NSCDC noted that the suspect will be charged to court upon completion of the ongoing investigation, in accordance with legal provisions.
The Kwara NSCDC Commandant, Dr Umar JG Mohammed therefore emphasized "that Sexual abuse, particularly against minors, is a grievous offense and a direct attack on the moral fabric of our society. We are determined to ensure that justice is served, and that perpetrators of such heinous crimes are brought to book."
He then, reaffirmed the commitment of the NSCDC to protecting the rights and safety of children, youth, and other vulnerable groups in the society.
