3-Yr-Old Marriage Dissolved over Husband's Criticism of Wife
An Ilorin Area Court on Wednesday dissolved a three- year-old marriage because of the husband's habit of always criticising the wife.
Kudirat Adebayo, a housewife, approached the court for the dissolution of her marriage to Raimi Adebayo, saying that he was always fond of criticising her.
"My husband condemns and sees fault in every act of mine and he has never, for once, praised me for any good thing I did.
His criticism is too much and never for once did he encourage me as his wife," said Kudirat, a resident of Popo Gbona area of Ilorin.
She said that the marriage was contracted in 2010 and had produced one male child, Ibrahim, aged two.
She prayed to the court to dissolve the marriage, adding "I cannot contain the insult anymore."
The defendant prayed the court to grant the prayer of the plaintiff, saying his wife was a lazy woman.
The Presiding Judge, Mr Ibrahim Abdulquadri, dissolved the marriage and issued a certificate of divorce to the plaintiff. (NAN)
