University of Ilorin VC Hails Late Prof Ijaodola as Legal Education Icon
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof Wahab Egbewole, has paid tribute to the late Prof Rasheed Ijaodola, describing him as a towering legal scholar who dominated academia with immense influence and dedication.
Prof Ijaodola, who passed away on Sunday morning, played a pivotal role in mentoring countless generations of lawyers across various institutions where he imparted his knowledge.
Prof Ijaodola was a distinguished Law Professor at Igbinedion University, Okada, in Edo State. His contributions to legal education have left an indelible mark on both students and colleagues, earning him widespread respect and admiration within the academic and legal communities.
The late scholar hailed from Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State and once lectured Law at the University of Ilorin.
Egbewole, in statement by the University of Ilorin Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, on Sunday described the sudden death of Ijaodola as a great loss.
Egbewole noted that Ijaodola's passing is a significant blow to both the legal profession and the academic community in Nigeria.
He described the deceased as a “bookworm” who earned no fewer than four PhDs, including one in Christian Studies, in spite of being a devout Muslim.
“He was a remarkable scholar, a committed community builder, and a devoted family man,” Egbewole added.
He prayed that Almighty Allah forgive Ijaodola's shortcomings and grant him Aljanah Firdaous. (NAN)
